An application to acquire approximately 108,000 hectares in the municipality of Coyuca de Catalan in northern Guerrero has been made with the Mexican Mining authorities.
The Property was staked on the basis of markedly anomalous metal values in stream sediment samples taken by the Servico Geologico Mexicano.
The polymetallic geochemical footprint is at least as significant as the Los Filos-Bermejal and Campo Morado Projects to the east. Of particular interest is the Cu-Au geochemistry. The Property overlaps part of the Zihuatanejo Subterrane of the Guerrero Terrane, a complex, shallow marine island-arc assemblage that ranges from Middle Jurassic to Late Cretaceous in age. Rocks of the Guerrero Terrane are prospective for several types of base metal deposits, including volcanogenic massive sulfides (VMS), sedimentary exhalative deposits (SEDEX) and the more recently recognized iron-oxide-copper gold deposits (IOCG's) and related iron skarns. The older rocks are covered by Tertiary andesites on the western part of the Property.
Alphamin expects to have confirmation of the title to this property in the very near future. The Company intends to embark on a detailed sampling campaign designed to locate base metals and Cu-Au anomalies that have mine making potential, once title is confirmed.
